If your listing include variation, then Amazon may give each child
(color/size) different BSR and keyword ranking is different from each
child ASIN.
-Then on May, they started to merge again the parent listing.
So, now the variation is shown under 1 BSR, the keyword ranking is
based on parent ASIN and no longer different from child ASINS.
what happened? Amazon is testing out different category display,
sometime they keep it permanent, sometime they will reverse it after
weeks/months.
Seller support are useless, Don't ask them to help and fix the category
display, they won't do anything (they are not aware of the changes,
also they don't have the tools).

亚马逊新政!调整类目排名规则,变体权重增加
不知各位卖家有没有发现,最近亚马逊开始更改类目排名规则了!
不少卖家反映,目前多变体Listing权重合并,不再像以往一样一个父体下各变体的排名位置分别不同,而是一个父体一个排名!比如,在亚马逊搜索一个变体Listing,各个子体下的排名是一样的。
这对于部分,卖家来说,是个很好的机会。比如说之前大卖的几个变体卖得好的会分别有排名,可能会同时占小类目里面的几个坑,现在排名一致了,不管几个卖得好,通通只有一个排名,那也就意味着,后面的卖家有机会去抢占位置了!
不过,也有卖家表示:“我一个listing里面有3个sku,本来都在小类前100,现在这样,前一百里面的曝光位置就一个了。”
有卖家咨询了客服,客服的回复是“亚马逊正在测试合并排名,合并排名是趋势,现在正在这样操作。”
也就是说,以后前台显示的排名应该是所有子体销量综合的排名,那么对于多变体的listing来说,将是能提升排名抢占Bestseller的好机会。
有卖家找出了之前亚马逊曾发过的一则政策,也证实了这一说法:

这句话指出,现在变体只显示在一个BSR下,关键词排名基于父ASIN, 不再与子ASIN不同。
以前的变体排名规则是,假设一个产品有10个变体,这10个变体在一个小类目里可以有不同的排名,这就出现了有些大卖家会利用多变体霸屏的打法,在一个小类目里占据多个坑位。
现在亚马逊改变了变体规则,就变成了无论你的子体销量多好,在一个类目排行榜里你只能占一个坑位。
这个规则对于买家来说具体有哪些影响呢?
1. 对于单变体的卖家可能不太友好
有一位卖家反映:“现在所有子体的销量都叠加到父体上了,我有一个竞争对手本来排在靠后的位置的,结果靠这手排名规则的变动直接冲上了小类目前50。这个举措对于我们这些单变体的小卖来说还是比较难受的,我的小类目排名就在一夜之间下滑了不少。”
对于多变体的卖家,可以很快地冲到小类目前面,而单变体的卖家就要另找门路了。
但是从另外一个角度看,排名靠前了,但变体坑位变少了,曝光机会变少了,总的流量是否会减少呢?这还需要后续更多的观察才能下结论。
2. 新品有更多的机会
所有变体都只能占据一个坑位,这就让出了其他坑位,也就给了新品更多的机会。
大卖的霸屏操作无法实现了,那么那些空出来的坑位补上来的都是销量一般的,卖家们如果能够抓住这些坑位,把自己的销量冲上去,那么排名就是你的了。
总体来看,这次变体排名规则的变化对卖家来说有利有弊,卖家还是要根据自己的产品情况调整策略。
另外,变体卖家也要注意,父体的权重增加了,那么父体的Listing也要重视起来,后台的Search Term要注意填上。相信不少卖家此前的父体Listing都是比较简单随意,所以一定要注意完善好父体信息。
最后,这是新政策,如果卖家觉得受到影响也无法更改。亚马逊明确指出,找卖家支持是无用的,不要要求他们帮助和修复类别显示,他们什么也不会做(他们不知道更改,也没有工具)。
